CBR or AOA?

Postby CrinP » Sun Apr 04, 2021 12:52 pm

What are the rooms like at CBR? The resort area looks nice but we watched a vlog of the rooms and they looked really dated, would you agree?
We are erring more towards AOA as the rooms look fresh from their refurb.
Thanks.

I like the rooms at CBR and love the pool. I don't care for the dining at CBR and the resort is huge so depending on where your room is-it can be a hike. The CBR is the skyliner Hub.

I like the dining options at AOA-however, getting on the skyliner at AOA in the morning during the rush stinks because when you hit the CBR skyliner hub you have to get off there and get back in line-to get to HS or EPCOT.

I second Caribbean. 2 Skyliner lines to start and end your day isn't pleasant

There are threads about CBR & AOA here: viewforum.php?f=26 (although they don't have much in them :) )

I think it all depends on who is going & what your needs are. A big pull for the AOA rooms would be (for the younger children in your traveling party) the great themeing of the rooms & of the property.
CBR rooms aren't too fancy, the pirate rooms are well-themed though. The pool may also be another attractive point (not sure which pools are open at the moment, however)

The photo makes it look a little nicer than it is, I found the room to be a bit dark & they did seem dated. I haven't stayed in a standard room, so hopefully someone chimes in with a comparison.

Other than those two factors, I would select CBR. Close to the skyliner, a walk over to the Riviera.

Drawback of the Pirate rooms is they are FAR from the main pool and Skyliner. The standard rooms arent anything special, but for us, Disney is rope drop to close, so it's just a place to crash

We stayed at both during our trip which was after the skyliner opened and with CBR being the hub for the skyliner it helped a lot. If you come from AOA you have to get off the skyliner, walk down a ramp and then join a long line (if you start when the park opens) to then get on the skyliner to Hollywood Studios or Epcot. Both food courts at CBR and AOA were great along with the pools. I know most people say it's a place to sleep, but after walking a long day I really enjoyed that CBR had carpet (which I know that Disney is moving away from). It was actually a bit painful to walk on the laminate flooring of AOA for me so glad we had a split stay.
