Re: What's your Disney Vacation Speed?
Definitely on the slower, relaxed side, but mainly in the mornings only. We are grateful to have gone at least 5 to 7 nights a year for the last 4 years or so, so we don't feel the need to go hard every day every time. We have done that for sure and spent ~12 hours every day in a park during our April 2017 trip when we didn't have any hoppers and just did the full one park per day. That is tough and IMO you miss a lot by trying to fit everything in every day - it can become chaos constantly looking for what to do next because you simply can't plan a nice park day when you're there for 12 hours.
We don't like the start the days fast - at all. We'll wake up naturally around 7 or 8 and enjoy breakfast at our resort, or some other resort. If we have plans to split the day with 2+ parks, the first park we'll arrive to around 10 or 11 depending on our FP+ schedule (pre-covid of course lol). We mostly will take a break in the mid afternoon back at the resort before getting dinner or going back out to another park for the evening hours. We absolutely love the After Hours events Disney had at MK, AK and HWS pre-covid. We can't wait until these are back. On these days we don't have a normal park pass and instead just have a really relaxing day by the pool, Disney Springs, resort hopping, date night style dinner before the 6 or 7pm arrival to that After Hours park. We'll absolutely stay the full time on those events.

Our motto is “you can sleep at home!” We RD every day. We do take mid-day breaks but go back for the end of the day. This may change once we return after Covid. With shorter park hours we may need to just keep going. But masks will be new for us so who knows!?!

Rope drop every day, relax at the hotel from around 1-3, go back to one of the parks, and get back to the hotel room around 1 in the morning. Those were the good days lol.

Our speed is fast until it's nap time, then the afternoon is a slower pace.CH-GenX wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 9:24 am What do I mean by Disney Vacation Speed? Are you at the parks 2 hours before the sunrises or do you take your time and get into the park whenever?
The reason I ask is that we are the type of family that we don't miss a rope drop and we are always trying to be at the front of the pack. We have traveled with other family members to WDW and we will leave you at the resort if you aren't up and at it for rope drop.

We get there before rope drop and stay until park close! We are so go-go-go on our trips, and really only leave the parks if we want to eat at a resort! But we do take an off day in the middle of the week to Resort-hop and go to Disney Springs!

It depends! I would love to be the type of person that goes to the parks early and get on every ride, but usually it's not the case.
Most of the time I'll get a Joffrey's and just take in the atmosphere of whatever park I'm in. Time flies when you're in Disney World, and sometimes you have to stop and enjoy the moment.

We usually open and close the parks. We don’t get there every often. It takes a long time to save for a Disney trip. I want to get as much in as we can eash trip.

Re: What's your Disney Vacation Speed?
My family used to be go go go all day long, but now that we're older, we gotta take a rest in the middle of the day. My body can't take the Florida heat anymore like it used to, so we came up with a new plan! We'll do rope drop and get as much done as possible before it gets too hot, go back to the hotel for pool time, lunch, and naps, then we'll head back to the parks and do Spaceballs ludicrous speed after it cools down a bit.
