Hamburger Pods?

Postby Alia » Tue Jan 26, 2021 4:25 pm

I really like the hamburger pods at Satu'li Canteen! I think they are now only available as a kid's meal. Do you all like them too? Or is it more of a love or hate kind of food?

Literally always wanted to try it.. I've seen other people get it and they either love it, or hate it. It looks realllllyyyy good to me!!!

I'm definitely in the strong like but not looking for a long term commitment category but you can stuff just about anything in a dumpling or bao bun and I'd be a fan. We actually attempted to make them recently and they came out pretty good. Not exactly the same but these days I'll take any taste of Disney I can get.

I believe I saw recently that that they are back on the menu along with the kids portion. These are on my list to try.

We love them. Last year they were only on the Kids meal so we ended up ordering two kid meals each :D We saw a recent video showing them back on the regular menu. Yay!

I've seen several people in reviews say they taste like a McDonald's cheeseburger. Is this really true? Would be cool if they do.

I really like them but for me they are more of a snack-than a meal.

I've not tried this recipe but here https://disneydishesblog.com/cheeseburg ... i-canteen/

Satu'li Canteen-one of the better places to eat in AK. If you haven't tried it you should give it a go!

They do. Especially if you dip them in a little ketchup.

We tried making them at home as well. I haven't had them in real life yet. Did you steam them? I Found the steamer to make them a bit damp which was weird in my opinion. They were kinda doughy

The cheeseburger pods are definitely one of Disney World’s more unique dishes, but still a very tasty one, I think :) In 2019, I tried the pods for lunch at Satu'li Canteen and really enjoyed them. I’ve heard it described as basically a McDonald’s cheeseburger inside a pod and yeah lol that’s pretty much it  So even though it may seem weird, if you like McDonald’s cheeseburgers you should give this dish a try ;) Also, as a side note, the slaw and potato chips that come with the dish (usually ;)) are very good as well!

Don’t really need one. Just a good size pot and metal colander
