Favorite Parade
Which parade is your favorite?
My favorite was the Main Street Electrical Parade. Seeing that parade always made me so happy.

Re: Favorite Parade
My favorite parade is and always will be SpectroMagic. It was simply enchanting.

Re: Favorite Parade
I actually really loooovee Soundsational!! Mickey is AMAZING when he plays those drums!! (That, and I’m a pretty huge band nerd, so music is a soft spot for me)

I almost picked Soundsational. I do miss it at times. I spent many a time with friends watching it.

Also a good one. I did see it a couple times but was fairly young so it’s not too strong a memory. I know I really enjoyed it though.

Re: Favorite Parade
Disney on Parade back in the early '70's.
Clever gags and sophisticated props with Disney characters.
A real eye opener as what they were capable of and what the future will hold.
Main Street Electrical Parade topped it and took over.

Re: Favorite Parade
MSEP will always be my number one because that was a soundtrack of my childhood. My family even had the music on vinyl back in the day.
I really enjoy the Christmas Fantasy parade, as well. Can't go a holiday season without seeing that parade. I even sing that song when I'm decorating my Christmas tree!
And this might be controversial, but I quite like Magic Happens! That main theme gets stuck in my head so easily and makes me want to dance, the opening unit is fun, and the remixes of the Disney songs are great!

I don’t think it’s controversial. I like Magic Happens quite a bit. For me, it’s too new to decide for myself yet. But I like the soundtrack a lot and some of the floats.LadyElspeth wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 4:22 pm MSEP will always be my number one because that was a soundtrack of my childhood. Re: Favorite Parade
Main Street Electrical Parade. But there was once a parade called "Tapestry of Nation" at the Epcot,
if I remember right. It was more a music and dance parade, but I got always little chills if I heard the music.

Re: Favorite Parade
The classics...Main Street Electrical Parade and Spectromagic will always be...well, classics.
The named successor was Paint the Night...which we saw in Disneyland. These pictures were from the 2016 era. The lighting technology, the dancers costumes, were amazing. Some modifications to floats had to be made to accommodate the wires over in DCA when it was there for a short time. When it closed, there was talk that this parade was particularly hard on the cast members, physically. One hopes that it might come back in some way in the future...
Enjoy a few shots...

Re: Favorite Parade
This one is tough for me. I loved main street electrical parade. But specto magic hold a special place since that's was the one there during my college program. And I was put on a lot of nights. I also liked the first day time one from when I was around 5. We have it on video. Thought I donr remember it without the video, when I watch it gives me chills.

Parade of Dreams! All time favorite parade for me. It's exactly what a Disneyland parade should be, classic characters, show stops, classic music, wonderful floats, etc!

Re: Favorite Parade
My favorite is The Lion King Celebration. Great costumes, puppetry, floats, and performances by the cast. But I'd also like to give an honorable mention to the music from the Party Gras parade.
