Walt Disney World Adults Trip?
So, my husband and I spent our honeymoon at Disney almost 7 years ago and I used to work there in 2009, so we were thinking of going this April without our kids! I like the idea but I'm worried I will miss my girls who are only 6 and 2! They have been with us twice before and we will be going as a family in the fall, but I worry I'll spend the entire time missing them instead of enjoying Disney with the hubs! Thoughts? Also, any ideas of where to eat/stay etc. are appreciated! There are so many options it's hard to choose I love this community!!! I'm so excited to discuss this with you all!

Re: Walt Disney World Adults Trip?
My husband and I took our first adults only trip a couple of years ago and loved it! We have five kids and were blessed to have friends who took care of them for the days we were gone. It took a day or so to adjust to being without the kids at Disney (kept saying, "the kids would like this") but after that, we were able to enjoy the time together. It's the ultimate date night! A couple of times we didn't have dining ressies but were able to easily get a table since it was just the two of us. We found that we went at a slower pace and were able to appreciate the parks and being at Disney in a new way. I hope you guys have a great time!

My daughter and her husband went last February and left their 1 1/2 year old daughter with us. My daughter did a lot of crying that's for sure especially towards the end of the vacation. It upset her more when she saw parents walking around with their kids. I think she felt guilty. However, it helped her when we video chat everyday. Our granddaughter did great staying with us, so I'm sure your daughters will be ok as well. When our two daughters were young my wife and I took a Disney World adult trip and we had a blast. My suggestion is to go have fun, but video chat as much as you want. Be prepared to miss your kids and to cry, but that's a normal thing.

My husband and I planned for an anniversary trip last May when WDW was closed. We rescheduled for this past October. We left our 14 year old twin boys at home. We had the BEST time. Did we miss our kids? Certainly! Did we talk with them daily (even multiple times a day)? Certainly! It was well deserved time away to focus on our relationship and reestablish our commitment to each other. It was a trip that I will remember forever. We did what WE wanted to do, acted like kids, went at our own pace and just had plain simple FUN!! Then in December, I had the opportunity to visit WDW on a girls trip! A friend of mine had booked a resort room and needed someone to go with her. I happily obliged. During this trip, she was meeting up with some friends one day so I spent that day alone. Being in the parks by myself was a magical experience. I HIGHLY recommend it. Take time for you and your husband. It will totally be worth it and will bring you closer.

My wife and I started going alone about 5 years ago without our kids who are all adults now anyway, but we have found a whole another perspective to WDW as Adults only.
People think we are crazy but we go just about every year and hit all of the new restaurants and bars (boy, do we miss bars right now) and enjoy the parks in a different manner. I guess we see a lot more without the pressure of getting from one place to another with the kids.
Our next phase has been coming with our adult children who can share an adult beverage with us. It is so much fun and making all new memories at the same time.
Disney is truly a place for all ages.

Go and enjoy your alone time! My daughter was 20 months when we left her at home with family. I was worried about leaving her. But she slept in her own bed and was taken care of by family that she was comfortable with. They spoiled her and she had a great week. We ended up having a really fun trip that was so relaxing not having to deal with a toddler. That was 7 years ago. Since then I've gone on 3 more adults only trips and have thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing time we've had. We do family trips and adults only trips. It's good to do both!
