Re: When did you first visit Walt Disney World?
2005, during the "Year of a Million Dreams." I vividly remember the castle with the changing mosaic and golden character statues. Lots of now-extinct attractions were still there at the time, like The Timekeeper, Snow White, and Stitch's Great Escape.

Re: When did you first visit Walt Disney World?
My first visit to Walt Disney World in Florida was 1974. I was 14 years old. Our family stayed in the Royal Plaza hotel on Hotel Plaza Blvd. It’s now known as the “B” Hotel.
My first visit to a Disney theme park was 3 years earlier in 1971. Disneyland in California. I was 11 and boy, did it leave an impression on me! The Haunted Mansion had only been open for two years at the time. Actually, let me go back even further to say that when I was five years old our family visited the New York World’s fair in New York City. The year was 1965, and I have fond memories of riding it’s a small world, and the carousel of progress! My mom even has 8 mm home movies of it that we all cherish!

1991, last minute flight from Germany to Miami.
From there we went to Kissimmee by car and stayed
at a Howard Johnson for 10 days. The hotel was just
a couple of miles away from the entrance. We bought
a 5 day hopper pass and enjoyed every minute.

Re: When did you first visit Walt Disney World?
1974 and I remember most how convenient the Monorail was. Not just a ride but an essential part of the transportation system at the time.
It was Super Bowl weekend and in those days the few sports bars in the resort were hidden behind unmarked doors. You'd have no clue unless you asked a cast member where to watch the game.
Open the door to enter and the place was'a rockin' with energy.
Even today many resort bars are out of direct view of guests.
If you needed a ride into town their was the Rabbit Express for $1 each way.

I've been to Disney Land throughout my childhood, but January 2020 was my first time to Disney World. I'd managed to get my tickets for free through a rewards program at work for a 5 day park hopper, and I really enjoyed my trip there.

Sometime in 1989. Star Tours just opened at Disney-MGM and I was excited to ride it despite being well under 10 years old.

Re: When did you first visit Walt Disney World?
I first visited Walt Disney World in 2001, when my daughter was 6 years old. My whole family went and it was the best trip ever!! The best part was watching my daughter's expression when she experienced the parades, characters and fireworks. This is when I feel in love with Disney World and my daughter and I visit every year when possible.

2014 when I was 57. I've been there 10 times since then. I missed all my 2020 trips due to Covid. Next trip is booked for November 2021. It will be my 5th solo trip. I can't wait!

I went as a kid in '71/'72. Drives my wife crazy since '71 was such a significant trip. She was there for the opening.

The first time I visited Disney World was December 2005 when i was a teenager. It was just a couple months before Expedition Everest opened in Animal Kingdom and during the Happiest Celebration on Earth.

My first property stay was at Caribbean Beach Resort in the Pirate rooms in January 2020. Amazing experience and would definitely look at doing another stay at this resort!

Re: When did you first visit Walt Disney World?
1985...I was only 6 weeks old (and a preemie at that), but my parents said heck with it we’re going since they had already planned on it. We had family that lived in Florida so they went a good bit -and eventually bringing me along as well. I apparently loved it’s a small world, so my parents got me a small pull-string music box while there that played the tune, and would sometimes be the only thing that would stop me from crying.
That music box now has the opposite effect.
On average I’ve been at least once a year, with last year really messing up my streak, but now I can look forward to taking my 6 month old daughter hopefully sooner than later so she can continue the tradition of telling people that she remembers nothing of her first trip but knows that she went.

The first time I went was in 1989 on a trip with my parents & grandparents. It was my first time travelling on a plane too!
