What’s been your experience trying to get on Rise?
Has anyone tried to get on Rise of the Resistance? How does the virtual queue work? Has anyone gotten on the ride? What tips do you have? Has anyone tried to get on the ride but couldn’t? What went wrong?

Don't wait until 7 am to log in, have your phone already logged in to the app prior to 7. Remember that my phone might say 7 before your phone does, you can have someone in your party on the time.gov website to know official time and use that for guidance. Some people advise to check your connections, even doing speed tests. You can do practice runs prior just to see what screens you'll encounter. Also, don't worry if your entire party doesn't show up in the BG. Just focusing on getting the BG and you can have a cast member help you with getting all of your party afterwards if needed.

The big thing is to be prepared before 7am. Get up and test your phone to make sure you are on the internet. The reason I say that is because I switch to wireless in the hotel and sometimes over night the connection resets. Even though it tells you you are connected you can't browse web pages. You need to turn off wifi and turn it back on to get the welcome page. So make sure you are able to browse the internet before 7am gets there.
As soon as it turns 7am you should already be in the Mydisneyexperince app, as soon as it hits 7am click on join boarding group. That should be all there is to it now. As long as you aren't late you should get a boarding group. It's not as tricky as it was a year ago.
The virtual queue should tell you when you should be in line. The lower the number the earlier you will get called. If you get a boarding group like #10 you need to be in the park at park open. If your group is in the 60's then it will likely be late in the afternoon.
Once your group is called show up at the gate for Rise and they will scan you through.

Re: What’s been your experience trying to get on Rise?
I've had the best experience on data instead of wifi at places (unless you know the wifi you are on is very fast). I would say be sure you have everyone set up to go in your app, like all tickets there and that park passes are totally good to go (I've had an experience of not which I'll get to...)
I've also had good experience just watching my phone's time, but like everyone else is saying, be in the app a few minutes before. I usually am in at like :57. If you hit that button as close to 7 as you can the rest is fine as long as you have the tickets set up. Just be watching the time well.
There was one time that originally a friend had a park pass set up so we could both do Rise and I was in charge of getting the boarding pass. He didn't tell me he switched park passes, so I missed the 7 am boarding pass time because I kept trying to add him. I ended up going to the park anyway and being ready at 1 pm with the same set up above, but minus him. I still did the same procedure as before and got a pass no problem that ended up being around 2:30 pm.
For that I would say be sure to go around the park seeing what the signal is for your data well before 1 pm to get the pass.

We have been extremely lucky with getting a boarding pass. There are a lot of different recommendations out there; however, I think it just boils down to being ready to smash buttons at go time coupled with a good connection.

Re: What’s been your experience trying to get on Rise?
I fired up the app around 0615 and practiced what I needed to do. Then when the clock struck 0658, I keep refreshing the app non-stop until 0700 and the app loaded the screen to grab a boarding group. Was fairly straight forward.
The key - select all of the people in your party. I forget if there is a button to 'Select All' or if it does it automatically, but don't worry if it has more people than are actually going on it. They can just not go on it, and it won't effect you.
If you spend time picking specific people, you may lose your chance at a boarding group. Speed is the key

Re: What’s been your experience trying to get on Rise?
It selects all the people in your "friends list" in MDE automatically that have a Park Pass for Hollywood Studios that day. If it doesn't you can always go to Guest Relations or one of those Cast Member "kiosks" with the blue umbrellas and ask that they help you - usually they can add someone on if the app missed them. So just keep going through - I don't even stop to see who is on the list, I just immediately go to the next step.WisconsinDisneyDad wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 8:18 am I fired up the app around 0615 and practiced what I needed to do. Re: What’s been your experience trying to get on Rise?
About a year ago, me and my brother, aunt, and dad tried to get on Rise of Resistance, so we woke up at 6 AM.. Got to the park fairly early, and made it to the boarding group event.
Long story short, we didn't get in. ): It's so stressful hearing people cheer because of getting a good number while trying to get one yourself
I didn't mind, because the day turned out great anyway -- I just didn't want to see my family disappointed since SW means a lot to them. (i like it too, but don't care too much about getting RoR, even though it looks cool!)
This was close to when it first opened so I'm sure you don't have to wake up early anymore.
