Top 3 Disney Resort Hotels

Postby Rich07726 » Tue Jan 26, 2021 3:57 pm

I'm looking to plan a Disney trip sometime this year and I want to stay at a Disney Resort for the first time in 25 years. What is everyone's top 3 resort choices?

Oh my...they are all so wonderful in their own way. The least expensive resort is All Star Sports (unless you look at the camp ground.) I've personally never stayed there, but have friends who love it. My favorites are: Value - Movies, Moderate: Port Orleans French Quarter or Coronado, Deluxe: Beach Club. I tell friends to pick their level of resort, then look for the theme that best suits them. They really are all amazing.

Great question!

For me it is:

Port Orleans Riverside
Wilderness Lodge
Contemporary

Happy planning! Riverside is a moderate and just feels so homey. WL is big and gorgeous.

On my Honeymoon I was able to stay at the Grand Floridian for 2 weeks. Back then in the 90s it was still affordable. Also stayed at the Caribbean Beach and was not happy with it.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone is giving!!

My favorites are:

Contemporary Resort - can’t beat location to MK

Wilderness Lodge - great theming but still just a boat ride away to MK

Beach Club - closest to EP, can still walk to HS and Stormalong Bay pool

We try and stay at a different resorts each time we go.

1.) Polynesian (Daughters first trip and loved the Ohana buffet.)
2.) Animal Kingdom Lodge (Son's first trip and loved watch the animals walk out to the savannah from our room.)
3.) Port Orleans Riverside (As an older vistors nice quiet and resort and love the Boatwright Prime Rib)

It's going to depend on your situation. For me I go with the Pop Century. Price wise it's the best value of all the resorts. Even though there are no signature restaurants, you don't notice their absence. It's just as easy to get to Disney springs anyway. Also it's the best resort for transportation. It's easy to get to almost any location. There are so many people staying there that the bus schedule is very generous. You also have the skyliner. And if you want it's a short walk to Art of Animation and you can easily use their buses if needed. I also like that the buses all come to the same location rather than be scattered throughout the resort like at Caribbean Beach. It's also located right in the middle in case you need to drive. Everything you do is just easier from there.

French Quarter is my favorite.
For value my favorite is Pop
For a deluxe I’ve been liking Old Key West recently.
But honorable mention to Riviera for location and great room.

1 Poly-great location.

2 Animal Kingdom Lodge-the animals and atmosphere is amazing.

3 Old Key West-very relaxing property and the rooms are larger than standard studio.
