Duffy and Friends - 'Olu Mel!

Aloha! Sadly, Duffy and Friends do not seem to be as popular as they once were in the American Disney Parks. However, due to Aulani's recent closure, much of the 'Olu Mel merchandise has been brought to the Polynesian Resort! This is super exciting and provides hope that one day Duffy will make a return to Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Is there any Duffy Merchandise at all in the parks? I remember, not sure exactly how long ago, when the Christmas parade used to air(mostly in full before there was more singing than parade)...wasn't Duffy on the float with Mickey and Minnie? Now he seems to have vanished, He does seem extremely popular overseas. Such a shame, he is so cute, lol. Wish they would put him back in all the parks.

I don't believe there is much Duffy merchandise in the parks anymore. Several years ago he was most present in Epcot; I remember taking a photo with him there. I also bought a plush at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort. However, I don't think he remained popular enough, at least in the American parks, for Disney to continue to celebrate him.

That Christmas parade sounds so fun! I think I do vaguely remember that, it's probably on YouTube somewhere, lol.

It is a shame, though. Duffy and all of his friends are so cute! Hopefully with 'Olu Mel's return to the Polynesian, we may see more of them in WDW and Disneyland!

I really cannot understand why the character did not ''take off'' in popularity, he is so adorable lol.

From a few videos I have seen from the other parks, he is amazingly popular, especially Japan and China.
In some of the YouTube videos, they claimed he was more popular than Mickey....wow, that would be big indeed!

I would also like to see Duffy return to WDW.

On my most recent trip, the only Duffy merchandise I saw was the Duffy, Shellie May, and Olu Pandora jewelry charms at Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom. A cast member there told me they had recently gotten them back in stock.

Pin trading boards in the parks can be a good place to find Duffy sometimes, too. But he should have more of a presence!
