I was thinking about Haunted Mansion Holiday and the thought occurred to me: Are they going to have holiday overlays for Disneyland attractions this year?
The reason it's a question in my mind is the amount of time the attraction has to be closed in order to install the decor. Haunted Mansion and it's a small world are down for weeks to install and de-install. With not every attraction open when the parks reopen it makes me wonder if they will have it this year or keep them the same so that people can visit the regular versions for their possible first time back in well over a year.
What does everyone think?
I'll answer my own question saying it might be that they'll do Ghost Galaxy and the Monsters Mission: Breakout since those are basically switches they turn on. Might be doing Jingle Cruise this year because I think it's only a few days that it needs to be closed to install decorations.

Dude, I’m going to really upset if they don’t. I mean, why not?! That’s one of the things that makes Disneyland amazing!! I missed it last year. I really really really hope they do it this year!!

I was just wondering about this, too! While I love the overlays, I wouldn't be surprised if they skipped those this year and just added holiday decorative accents around the park overnight. But who knows!

I could still see them doing everything, maybe except Haunted Mansion. BUT, if there are no membership options in place by December, they are going to want to pull every string to get people to come to the parks and buy tickets, which will get more difficult as people will have already gone once (probably in these first 2-3 months), and everything in December is pretty much Tier 5 pricing. So they need to do everything they can to draw people in.

That's a good point. I know other states aren't able to visit yet, but I feel like the availability calendar shows that their pricing might be too high for people. Or it could be people are waiting for the vaccine. Or something else. In whatever case I could also see them making a sudden decision to do overlays to bring people in.AviationPhotography wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 12:14 pm I could still see them doing everything, maybe except Haunted Mansion.
