RCMP Mickey

Postby Poppy » Mon Jun 14, 2021 5:31 pm

Here's another trip down nostalgia lane

Was rummaging through the attic and found this Royal Canadian Mounted Police Mickey Mouse figure that my parents bought me at the Disneyland Hotel in the early 1980's

I can't remember the name of the store but it's the one indicated by the yellow arrow in the attached pic, pre-remodel at the hotel, i remember walking down those stairs plenty of times as a kid

My dad's from Canada so i guess it seemed like a nice fit - happy it survived over the years :D

I don’t remember the name of the store either but I loved going to it as a kid. We’d always go our last day after riding a round trip on the monorail because we didn’t have tickets for the park. I know it was outdated and do like Downtown Disney but miss the old Disneyland Hotel.

So many interesting spots to explore at the previous incarnation of the hotel - my family lived 20 minutes from the park and used to make an afternoon of it in the years before we got annual passes - can't tell you how much i miss the video game arcade at the marina

That was a wonderful spot too. I would also do the remote controlled boats near the marina. It’s sometimes hard for me to believe there was a whole marina there even though I still remember gazing at it with my own eyes.

We also loved the Monorail Cafe. Still wish they’d have that.
