Attractions that scared you as a kid but you love now?

Anyone who has been going to Disney since childhood remember attractions that scared you as a kid, but that you LOVE now?
As a kid, I was TERRIFIED of fireworks. My family learned you could walk straight through all of the shops on Main Street because every night we would go to Magic Kingdom, we would be in a mad dash dodging crowds to get out before Wishes started.
And then... there’s Muppet Vision 3D. Who doesn’t love Kermit, right? Well, the first time we watched it, I think my parents must have had a true “oh no” moment when Sam the Eagle announced the fireworks finale! Within seconds I was screaming “get me out of here!” from the floor of the theatre (apologies to everyone in the audience).
Now, I love both fireworks and the muppets, and many of the things I was afraid of as a kid (I was an anxious kid, haha). And it’s something my family laughs about! Anyone else have a similar story?

I was always so scared of Splash Mountain when I was a kid, I had an irrational fear of the thorns, but my mom convinced me to go on it when I got a little older, and I loved it! It's one of my favorite rides now.

I used to be afraid of Space Mountain because my older brother told me that it went upside down. Even though my parents told me it didn’t, I refused until I think I was about nine and finally went on it… And have loved it ever since.
Alien Encounter is another one I thought was scary initially, but I think in retrospect I would love if it was still open.

As a kid I was terrified of the “Haunted Mansion” and the alien scene from “The Great Movie Ride”, but now I miss “The Great Movie Ride” and it’s fun cast member driven story, and the “Haunted Mansion” has become my all time favorite ride.

Space Mountain because it was a roller coaster in total darkness. It wasn’t until the Disneyland version added on-board music and it turned into a exciting ride.

Not as a kid but Mr. Toad's Wild Ride in Disneyland scares me...you literally go to where the Devil is.

I was so scared of any roller coaster
Never wanted to go on one! Ended up having to go on one when I was in my late 20's (long story about why) but have LOVED roller coasters ever since! I think I rode Space mountain 5 times the first time I visited Disney World after that

You know the smoking volcano in the background in the Mexico pavilion? That terrified me because I thought it was going to erupt!

Expedition Everest! I was so scared to go on it but finally did. It's now one of my favorites.

The Heffalumps and Woozles room in Winnie the Pooh freaked me out as a kid. But I do have a sweet memory of my mom buying my a stuffed Eeyore when we got stuck in that room one time, it's one of my favorite memories now!

more of a Disneyland thing, but as a kid i was terrified of heights so the Skyway always freaked me out - just couldn't wrap my head around being suspended by a single cable, especially when other kids tried to swing their buckets back and forth in front of ours, i was convinced we were all doomed
now heights don't bother me and i'm psyched to ride the Skyliner when i get back to WDW

i remember i used to be terrified of illuminations because of the loud noise. even when i had noise protection head phones (like hunters use
) it was still super loud. haha! i was also just scared of fireworks in general
the first time i ever watched a full firework show was when i was 10
i was also afraid of the great movie ride due to the alien scene. i rode it very few times in my life. i do miss it, but love mickey and minnie’s runaway railway

As a kid, I was terrified of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I was so glad when it was replaced by Pooh. I've watched videos of Mr. Toad recently, and I can't wait to ride it at Disneyland someday. I think I will love it now.

I'm honestly not scared of any ride. I've never met a ride I would ride. The higher and faster, the better.
I went on my first upside down ride at 2 yrs. old. It's been non stop ever since. The only thing that stops me now is old bones. I'll ride it once, if it hurts, I won't go back, lol. I was the most strict parent when it came to rides. My children did not have a choice to tell me they were scared of a ride unless they had ridden it once. It was a policy in my house, lol.

Also true for me. Snow White's Scary adventure frightened me so much as a kid that I covered my eyes the whole way through. Then I complained to my Dad that I missed the whole thing and wanted to go again. He was not about to stand in line for it again, though.
I enjoyed having the chance to ride it before it closed as an adult with my own son. He was not bothered by it in the least even though he was quite young at the time.

I used to be afraid of thunder and lightning when I was little so I was scared of all the rides with a thunder sound to them. I was scared of The Many Adventures Winnie The Pooh and Living With The Land because of the thunder. And I also was scared of Splash Mountain but now I love going on all of these rides every time I go!

This is what I was going to write - the alien that hangs down and kind of breathes on you / might drip (?) on The Great Movie Ride. I now watch ridethroughs and think, what a work of art!
The bride in attic of Haunted Mansion still kind of scares me to this day. I got older, but she also got refurbished with more sophisticated effects and became scarier so on balance, still afraid of her.
Another ride: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. WHAT THE...? You get murdered at the end and maybe go to hell? Amazing. Kids today still need to have existential fear drilled into them during a dark ride. You can't get that from Guardians of the Galaxy.
