MK Rope drop strategy

Postby BethDisDreamz » Sat Jan 30, 2021 7:58 pm

Hey all, we are doing Disney (barring any Covid related issues) in the spring. This will be our second trip but the last one before our teenager goes off to college. We didn't get to do 7 dwarves mine train last time and my husband and she want to do the mountains and 7 dwarves. Anyway... I know we'll need to get to the park an hour before open, but what path to take and what order to do the other mountains? How do you rope drop? Can you go through the castle or do you have to go through tomorrow land? Tyia

Currently you can enter the park prior to official open so yes arrive at least an hour prior to opening. Remember to take into account temp checks, are you arriving on resort bus, having to go through TTC, etc. They are planning to do early entry only for resort guests eventually but a start date for that hasn't been announced. Anyways, definitely head to 7d first, go through the castle or follow the path just to the right of the castle. I think someone has even calculated it is a bit shorter to go that way and has less people so you can move faster. Don't go through Tomorrowland, it will for sure take you longer. From there depending on if park is open or not, I'd do Big Thunder and then finish with Space Mountain.
