Favorite running trails at WDW?
I'm heading to WDW in April and thinking about running a virtual race or two on property. What are some good paths for running around the resorts?

Re: Favorite running trails at WDW?
I’ve been to quite a few of the resorts that have a good running trail with them. I always enjoy the Epcot resorts area, and that’s typically part of the running courses for actual RunDisney races. It’s nice to run by Boardwalk though that bridge can be noisy for me and I feel bad running on it early in the morning. It is about a mile and a half total, but it’s possible to stretch it out running to the DHS entrance and there’s even a little bit of street to run on past the Swan and Dolphin.
Fort Wilderness is kind of my other favorite because there’s a lot of great scenery and it’s a mile up and down with possibility of adding more if you weave through some campground areas. Plus, if you go early enough in the morning there are wild deer!
As far as what is open this coming April, I really enjoyed running between Caribbean Beach and Riviera. It’s possible to do about 2 miles going all the way around, and even adding in some mileage going in the middle. So, it wouldn’t take as many laps around.
It’s possible to do 3 miles at Coronado Springs, but that got monotonous with the scenery. Though I love the Pop Resort and don’t mind running around it and Art of Animation, I don’t think I’d want to do a virtual run around it and would opt for Epcot resorts, Fort Wilderness, or Caribbean Beach/Riviera area.
I have, pre-pandemic, gone around Disney Springs via Saratoga Springs and Old Key West. Both of those resorts are really nice to run around as well, but it’s especially nice to run through Disney Springs, but I think it’s not allowed as much because of temperature checks and running was mostly allowed somewhat early in the morning.

Re: Favorite running trails at WDW?
When I was there last December, we stayed at Pop Century and I was able to run around the lake between Pop and Animation. I didn't run completely around lake, but you can. It was so fun to run through Cars area early in morning when they all had their headlights on.
However, as you can see from my map, I ran along a rode on the right side... not a good idea, no sidewalk and NO easement... so stick to the paths around the lake. I even would have loved to run around parking lots to take in entire scenery!

Hourglass Lake is a great place to jog. Scenic. Not too short, not too long.Beaker & Honeydew wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 4:38 am When I was there last December, we stayed at Pop Century and I was able to run around the lake between Pop and Animation. my favorite running trail is from Main St directly to Space Mountain when the rope drops in the morning - at least, it is until a cast member tells me to stop running in the park

Thanks everyone for all the great ideas. I'm getting tired of running on the treadmill as all my trails here in Iowa are iced over, and I'm really missing RunDisney. Looking forward to recreating some of that magic on my next trip.

I've done several. In 2016 (I think!) my son and I ran a trail between WIlderness Lodge and Ft. Wilderness that was awesome -- we were both training for a half marathon at the time. Once in the early morning, we saw four deer together! I also enjoy the stretch between Polynesian and Grand Floridian along the beach.
