Hii All!

Wondering for those who live outside FL, how often do you make the trip down?

We typically have a 7 day trip annually but also end up doing a long weekend or two in addition to that.

Back in the day, when I lived about 700 miles from the world, We would drive down for a one week trip every two years.

Then when the kid went off to college, I increased to once a year solo week.

Then Magical Express, a discount airline, and annual pass, I went berserk with 5 or 6 trips a year. One or two, week long car trips, and three or four long weekends flying. For a total of 23 or 24 park days.

Now, with 3 grandkids, all 6 of us do one week, flying, every three years. Next trip Aug ‘22.

In the future, with prices going up and value going down, I don’t know.

I hadn't gone in quite a few years then took my Husband for his first trip. Since then we have tried to go every two years. We do plan to try and go this year and next as our trip this year is just before the 50th and we really want to see the festivities. Not sure after that as it is getting more expensive for less!

We are encouraged to have a Disney "experience" each year...as DVC members. We have home resorts in Florida and California...and normally will do the California visit about every 3 years. We have squeezed in three sailings on Disney Cruise Lines. Our Florida visits, largely due to work schedules, weather, and crowd size are normally in January. The only downside to that is the Disney will schedule some of the attractions and events to be offline following the heavy holiday schedules...

There have been a couple of short stays at Hilton Head's Disney Resort...but those are increasingly very hard to get...

We had thought about trying to get on the Wish....but full fare up front and no refunds was a discouragement...so maybe next year is time to think about Aulani!?

So...that's our (Disney) world right now...the fun is in the planning!

My family hadn't been in a while, and then we visited a few years ago and we started going almost 2x/year. It's like we were hit with the Disney bug. It's just so convenient when it comes to planning activities & there is usually something new every time we visit. Haven't been able to find time to go this year yet/pandemic changing everything but I'm hoping for a few days in July.

How Often Do You Travel To Disney?

By the calendar, we go about once a year. Not often enough is the best answer.

Early on we had large gaps, but our past several trips have been about every couple of years. Most times it's with a big group, although my 2018 trip was a girls weekend for Princess Marathon. It took me a few years to save up for our trip to Japan to visit our daughter (US Navy) but we spent our first 3 days in Tokyo so Disney was top of the bucket list for the trip. We have an upcoming trip for October, but after that it will really depend on cost and value. The prices are just getting crazy.

Normally it’s been about once a year to Florida. Starting December 2019 I had been going about every three months on average! That’s including pandemic reopening.
Disneyland is a whole different story since I live 8 miles from that park. Before they canceled passes I would go about once a week. Now I have no idea how often to there.

Before COVID, we went twice a year.

Early in life I had family that lived in Florida, so we went a bunch…pretty much anytime there was a long weekend we were heading to Florida, including WDW many of those times. Once I hit my teens it was once or twice a year for 4 or 5 days at a time. From my twenties until now I average about once a year, minus last year due to Covid and having my first child! If it wasn’t for Covid, we would have probably already taken her on her first trip. Maybe we can get back on track next year.
