Not quite, but PDD is a thing. Try googling those words...you'll find several articles with suggestions!

Re: Post Disney Depression
Yes, most times. I did have one or two bad trips where I was happy to go home, but the blues is the norm. I watch so much stuff on YouTube, do so much planning, and really get anxious leading up to the trip...then we have to break up and I have to go home after such a short amount of time. I then end up treating it like a bad breakup. I don’t watch or read anything Disney related for a while, but it gets better and I can look back at the pictures and the good memories I got from that trip.

Re: Post Disney Depression
as a wee young kid i would seriously bawl when approaching the exit turnstiles at disneyland - as an adult visiting WDW, i keep it in but yeah, it's tough to know that the trip is coming to an end but planning for the next trip takes some of the sting away

Re: Post Disney Depression
Definitely get the blues after coming home. Our last trip was in January 2021 - went straight home to book another trip for April - but now it feels like such a long wait until April! We have another trip in June after that too - but it is definitely tough coming home, even harder with the pandemic!

It's so hard to leave a vacation period so I can definitely relate! I remember the video that they play on the Magical Express going back to the airport that always puts me in the saddest mood lol.
I'm so glad I found RTV1 and other channels I usually use them to beat the Disney blues especially now when I really can't go even though I want to.

We used to make an 18 hour drive to DW, and mannn was it hard leaving! As a kid I always hated seeing the Disney billboards on the highway as we slowly drove farther away from the parks. The drive back was honestly always dreadful.. Now we fly to Florida, so it's never as depressing leaving.

Re: Post Disney Depression
We certainly feel melancholy when we come home from a fun vacation where we spent a lot of time together as a family. It's understandable. We were all together having fun, and now we're separated from each other during the work day, doing our routine daily things. It takes a little while to get back to normal. But we know that at some point, we will go on vacation together again. That keeps us optimistic.
The current situation has prevented us from going to Disney World since the summer of 2019 (we typically visit twice a year). That was the last vacation we took. At some point, we will take another vacation. At some point, we will get back to Disney World. But for now, we try to find things to break up the routine. One of the things I like to do is pick up some take-out food and watch Friday Night Live. Until recently, I've watched the livestreams as a "ninja." Recently, I've started to get involved in the livestream chats. Everyone watching has a similar interest in WDW. Until we make it back down there I'll just keep watching Resort TV 1, and of course I'll keep watching even after we get back down there!

The post trip blues are for real! That's why I'm here watching streams, listening to music, living through others who are traveling to Disney, planning the next trip in my mind, etc

Re: Post Disney Depression
When we come back from Walt Disney world, it's always a bit depressing those first few days! Even tough to watch the live streams, though that can also help. Thankfully, we usually have Disneyland to fill that void.

Re: Post Disney Depression
I usually have a day after I get home of just rest, so I sleep for most of that. When I go back to work, I'm usually thinking, "You people are NOT Disney".
BUT, I kept smelling the Spaceship Earth smell after I returned to the office from my last trip. I kept trying to figure out where it was coming from. Turns out, one of our upper management's office smells like it. Sometimes, I just walk by and take a whiff.

Re: Post Disney Depression
Yeppp! It used to be worse when we would have to make the 18 hour drive to Florida. It's so sad when you're driving home and you start seeing less and less DW billboards, the weather starts to get colder, and all of the places you once saw with anticipation get farther and farther away. Flying is so much better! I've still cried, but it's WAY less agonizing!
To someone who isn't a fan of Disney, it all might seem silly. But when you have so many happy memories at a place, you really form an attachment.
