Hey Disney Fans, I want to hear from you for a research project!

Do you regularly watch Disney Parks streams and videos? Are you a dedicated Disney Parks fan who misses the parks because of COVID-19? Do you love being part of the online Disney Parks community? Then I want to hear from you! I’m Dr. Matthew Trew, an anthropologist doing research on tourism in the age of the coronavirus. Thanks to the generosity of Josh and the ResortTV1 gang, I’m looking for **** from the virtual Disney community to help with this project.

If you’re interested, I’d love to hear your story. I’m happy to hear your opinion on a wide variety of subjects, but here are a few starter questions:
-How often do you watch live streams of Disney Parks or resorts? What about pre- recorded ride videos or park walkthroughs?
-Why do you enjoy Disney streams and videos? What does the virtual experience add to your life?
-What does visiting a Disney Park mean to you and your family? How are you trying to fill those gaps during COVID-19?
Did you have to cancel a trip (or a first-time trip) and are using streams until you can reschedule?
-Why is the Disney Parks online community important to you? How involved are you with the community, and how has it affected your life during the pandemic?
-Do you ever watch videos of retired attractions like Horizons or 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea? Why? What do those older attractions mean to you and how do you keep them alive?

Anonymity is guaranteed for anyone who does not wish to share any identifying information (which you should not share on the public forum!), and I will keep all private correspondence confidential. Bonus: If you’re a Disney SUPERfan who goes the extra mile to involve yourself with Disney Parks projects at home, then I really want to talk to you! Do you:
-Decorate your home following a Disney theme, like a specific character, ride, or land?
-Do you regularly Disneybound even outside of the parks?
-Have you ever recreated a Disney attraction at home, like a garage version of the Haunted Mansion?
-Do you create digital versions of or regularly watch retired attractions?
-I’m very interested in people who are dedicated fans of rides and attractions that don’t exist anymore! If you have photos or links to projects celebrating these legacies that you are involved with, please feel free to share them with me.

Your comments at will help in the preparation and publication of a high-level ethnographic report on tourism during the pandemic, and all participants will receive copies of the completed work when it is ready. This is a not-for-profit project and I will make no money, nor will any participant receive any compensation aside from my thanks and a copy of the publication.

PMs and direct emails are all fine! Whatever you are comfortable with is the most important thing. I don't want you to expose any public information that you don't want out there, and of course will keep anything confidential that you submit privately and want not to be put out there either.
