So which method is faster from Hollywood Studios to Epcot? Skyliner or Friendship? Post times if you have them.

Ever since the Skyliner opened, I've wondered which method of transportation from Hollywood Studios to Epcot is faster. Skyliner or Friendship Boats? A couple of factors to consider are lines but one is continuous while the other makes stops. I think Josh and Jenna should race each other using each method on an upcoming stream for fun and informational purposes.

Clearly it is the Skyliner. The Skyliner is ongoing and you barely have to wait. For the Friendship boats, you may have to wait up to 20 minutes, so I would say the Skyliner is definitely quicker to get from Hollywood Studios to Epcot.

I would think so too but I just wonder how much time you save taking the Skyliner. We didn't ride the Skyliner last time we were there so I'm anxious to see how fast you can get around on it when we are there in April....

Skyliner. You can't really test it by timing them when they leave at the same time either since it rarely works out that way. You can end up waiting a while for the boats but the skyliner is constantly loading. So the Skyliner wins the argument right there. Even if the boats could get you there faster they would still lose because they aren't constantly loading like the Skyliner is.

It has to be the Disney Skyliner. It's fast, reliable, and you get really good views of Walt Disney World.

I was amazed at how fast skyliner from studios to Epcot was when there’s no line. The boats have usually been fairly slow for me because I walk fast and can beat it because it makes multiple stops. But that is also something to consider where you could take the boat from studios to one of the resorts and then walk and it might be faster.

On recent stream they went from DHS to Epcot in 18 minutes that's with no delay in switching lines at CBR. That is pretty close to the amount of time it takes the boat, but you are likely to wait longer to get a boat, and the boats make three stops on the way, so if a lot of people are getting on and off it can take longer. I would say the Skyliner is a safer bet. With that said, if you have never done the boat I would recommend doing it at least once, it's a nice ride.

I've actually done that before and it didn't take that long but I think the stars were aligned that time. We didn't have to wait on the boat at DHS and then we got off at the second stop which was Beach and Yacht Club and walked the rest of the way to Epcot. We beat our boat that time as it still had to make a stop at BW before heading to Epcot.

We were there last in October 2019 right after the Skyliner had its first issue where they closed it down for a couple of days. It makes sense that the Skyliner would be faster but I love to compare the two methods just for fun.

So from the Friday Night Live it looks like they took the Skyliner at one point from CB to Epcot was about 10 minutes. So I think the SL wins!!!

And I actually timed from DHS to CB and it was like 6 minutes at most (I didn't quite start the stopwatch on time). So, I think that plus the 10 to Epcot makes it pretty much shorter than the Friendship Boats
