I found this really cool article. Magic Kingdom use to have a SKYLINER, called "SKYWAY".
The Skyway was actually removed-torn down by refurbishment from 1994-1998.
The Skyway ran between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.
At Magic Kingdom, restaurants and Aladdin Magic Carpet Ride replaced the boarding structure area in Fantasyland.
Tomorrowland, that area was torn down and not replaced. It's now just that open walking space between rides and shops.
THIS RIDE was reinstalled into Epcot/Hollywood Studios and those resorts as today's modern SKYLINER.
The Skyway closed at Magic Kingdom due to it's crumbling out of date infrastructure and it's usage was lower compared to other rides.
Magic Kingdom wanted to move more modern.
