Genie+ From Afar
We are scheduled to visit WDW in January (22) and are watching, with great interest, how the roll-out of Genie + is going. Looking at today's Tip Board...at around 10:15AM EST, I am very surprised (but perhaps should not be) that the vast majority of pickup times for food at most venues are all gone for the day in all parks. There are still some reservations available for sit-down establishments...but those are much more expensive than the counter-service places.
I wonder if anyone can share what their 'real-world' experiences are with this? Is it more difficult to get food?

Some places allow walk up orders, but we have been placing our orders around 9am for lunch or dinner to ensure the times we want to eat.randyf79 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 7:20 am Genie+ From Afar

Are you saying that you could get shut out for getting food? Are you saying that I won’t be able to walk into Columbia Harbor House and place an order?

Not totally sure, but I believe all locations have like 1 or 2 walk up order locations.nittanylions wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 8:34 pm Are you saying that you could get shut out for getting food? Are you saying that I won’t be able to walk into Columbia Harbor House and place an order?
Last month, whenever we ordered from Casey's, we did mobile, and I can't recall seeing a walk up order location there. But at Woody's Lunchbox there were 2 registers open to walk up. Thinking it depends on the restaurant? But I'd guess we missed the register at Casey's, they have to have one open everywhere, right?

Re: Genie+ ****?
I've had four visits since the parks have reopened. I've found it easier to get counter service as time goes on-The however is you have to be Johnny on the spot and you can't wait around.
Now my recommendation and this works without fail-either hop on the monorail or take a short walk (I prefer the walk) over to the Contemporary and eat at the Contempo Cafe. The have some really good house made potatoe chips!
Also sitting there looking at the Mary Blair mural is great. Additionally if you sit on the back side of the dinning area close to where they take the Chef Mickey Pictures-you might get to see a super star Mouse or one of his friends. They have never failed to wave and pose for a pic with my kiddos.
