Genie and Lightning Lane

Postby nittanylions » Wed Sep 29, 2021 3:20 am

Due to Covid, I haven’t been to WDW since summer of 2019. As a result, I haven’t kept up on details like Fastpass+. I was looking on the internet and saw that Fastpass+ is gone and will be replaced by Disney Genie and Lightning Lane. Does anyone know when they will start and how they will work?

Genie is their planning/wait times app.

Genie+, cost $15/day/person. You get to reserve one Lightning Lane access, some time before your day(I’m not sure when), then additional Lightning Lane usage throughout the day, much like the old 4th, 5th, 6th…etc, of the old system.

2 or 3, top attractions in each park will not be available on Genie+, but will offer access to the Lightning Lane for a fee.

Standby lines will still be open for both Genie+, and the extra fee(I’m not sure what they’re calling it) attractions.
