Magic Kingdom DJ
Has anyone else heard about the Magic Kingdom DJ that was playing guests out after Happily Ever After and directing them to transportation on top of the train station this week? What a strange decision by management. But I genuinely feel bad that after it became a thing on Disney Twitter, Disney seems to have cut ties with him. Whole story is on Mickey Blog. It’s too bad that the DJ himself seems to have maybe been embarrassed by Disney’s bizarre decision. I heard he went private on his social media. And he was really good! It was just weird placement / timing decision from Disney.

Re: Magic Kingdom DJ
Disney put the D.J. in a very awkward spot. Some prominent tik-tokers even called out streamers and vloggers by name as bullies-RTV1 was even named as a bully.
Disney is at fault here and anyone who is giving the guy a hard time-he did his job well. It just didn't fit with Main Street and people felt it was out of place.
The particular tik toker calling folks bullies is shawninorlando. I do not recommend you comment on his tik toks.

Yikes, thanks for the heads up! Things got out of hand on both sides. I don’t think RTV1 even commented on it! I agree, it was sort of a weird move on Disney’s part. I don’t know many people who want to be pumped up as they’re leaving the park. Heck, have him play Disney remixes and put him in a Disney t-shirt and even that would be less weird. But the DJ was good, and I hope they bring him back at a different location! Like maybe the Tomorrowland stage or somewhere in Disney Springs. Super tacky and disrespectful of Disney to seemingly cut him loose after he’d set up for his set and everything. He did what they asked him to do and did it well!CH-GenX wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 4:46 pm Disney put the D.J. in a very awkward spot. People like to build their success in a negative way and put shade on successful people. I've been around RTV1 for years now and it's all good.

Re: Magic Kingdom DJ
I made a Twitter post saying I didn't like having a DJ there, but I never called for him to be fired. Shawn is not in touch with reality most of the time. I would ignore anything he posts. I literally just said it wasn't in keeping with the theming on Main Street and I didn't like it. I guess we're not allowed to have opinions anymore. LOL.
Anyway, I'm sure they'll have the guy working somewhere else. This wasn't his fault at all... just a bad management decision.

Re: Magic Kingdom DJ
It was definitely a weird decision - probably for the best that they stopped the DJ. Not that I'm saying it was OK for anyone to bully the DJ, but in a week or two everyone will have forgotten about it and things will go back to normal for him. I know Josh wasn't bullying, just saying I'm sure others were.

I completely agree! There’s a big difference between saying “hey this isn’t my cup of tea, he’s a good DJ, just weird placement,” and “wow this guy is terrible.” Your post was definitely the former! Between a few people actually bullying the DJ and other people bullying the people who were only expressing non-bullying opinions about the DJ, things got so out of hand. Some folks need to channel their energy in a more productive way!ResortTV1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 6:19 pm I made a Twitter post saying I didn't like having a DJ there, but I never called for him to be fired.
