Grand Villa Stays

Hey everyone! With the cancellation of previous trips we have extra points and booked a grand villa at Animal Kingdom Lodge for this June! First time for us since I’m a bit of a point pincher with mostly studio stays.

My question to the group have you stayed in a grand villa? What’s your favorite if so?

If you have not what is you dream grand villa to stay at?

That's awesome! We have never stayed in a Grand Villa room before, but a few years ago actually at Kidani my friend was staying in a 2 bedroom villa that we got to hang out in a for an hour or so. Savannah view and everything. The place was HUGE. We couldn't believe it really that this was a resort hotel room lol. They have 4 kids around 10, 11 and then 4 and 5 so it worked out great for them.

With that said, I can't imagine how big the Grand Villa is at AKL. How many people are going with you?

The room sleeps 12 but with everything going on only 5-6 of us will be able to go. Still worth it since my mom is celebrating her retirement this year and this is my gift to her.

I have never stayed in a Grand Villa, but we did visit one for the DVC Open House at AKL Kidani (Savana view) and it is amazing!

In terms of where I'd want to stay - I would love to stay at the Boardwalk Grand Villa one day, but for the points - if I had a large group with me, I would definitely consider an OKW Grand Villa, the points per night are very reasonable!

Just had a tour, recently, of the Villas at the Riviera and the Grand Floridian. Also the cabins over at Wilderness Lodge and the on the lake bungalows at the Polynesian. The layouts were the same...different decor styles. Unbelievably appointed. If you are looking for peace and quiet...definitely the cabins at Wilderness Lodge. You'll have a great time...but will feel guilty when you go to the parks and leaving it behind... Happy problem to have. Enjoy!
