Seeing the new Cars-themed Wishables that Jenna showed on her vlog today got me wondering:
What are people's thoughts on mystery merch? I'm talking about merch like the Wishables or Disney pins that are sold in mystery pouches or boxes where you don't know what's inside.
Is anyone a big fan of them? I can see the excitement that would come from anticipation of what treasure might be inside...but I personally would be frustrated to get multiples of the same item or an item from the set that I'm not interested in. But that's just me, I like a sure thing
Let us know what your experience has been - it would be great to hear!

Re: Opinions on mystery merch
I enjoy pin collecting/pin trading, but I often find myself in a position where I’m not willing to part with any of the pins in my collection, so I like the mystery boxes for this reason. If it turns out to be a pin I like, that’s great, but if it’s not then I don’t have any regret trading it away the next time I see something preferable on a pin board.Poppy wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 12:47 pm Seeing the new Cars-themed Wishables that Jenna showed on her vlog today got me wondering:

Re: Opinions on mystery merch
That is a really smart approach! And I totally emphasize with not wanting to part with items in your collection, I feel the same way (with me, it's vinyl records)Emmy B wrote: ↑Sun Jun 13, 2021 12:19 pm I enjoy pin collecting/pin trading, but I often find myself in a position where I’m not willing to part with any of the pins in my collection, so I like the mystery boxes for this reason. Thank you! Yes, each item seems to have some special memory or story connected to it, so the collection just keeps on growing.Poppy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 13, 2021 12:45 pmThat is a really smart approach! Re: Opinions on mystery merch
I've never bought a Wishable, but I have LOTS of pins lol. Only, I can't see paying full price for a mystery pin and then not totally loving it. We tend to get authentic pins from Ebay and locals for much less and then trade. I guess we just like the thrill of the chases so to speak. One year we had 18 in our group and for the kids we had to find 5 sets of Disney busses. Gracious that was a crazy week. We found the last bus we needed on the last day of the trip. All kids went home super happy. lol
