The Hunt For Good Food In Magic Kingdom!!!

Postby Cory Meets World » Tue Jan 26, 2021 3:30 pm

From quick service to table service, I find Magic Kingdom to be lacking in great food options. What are your favorite food items in Magic Kingdom?

I've actually never had a turkey leg from Walt Disney World. I guess I need to try it some time. :)

I know it sounds silly but it was one of the first foods I bought when I went to WDW the first time. Funny how food can do that to you.

Skipper Canteen is the best table service we have had there, the lamb was amazing!

When it comes to quick service, I really enjoy Columbia Harbour House and Casey's! However, I always seem to do more snacking at MK than stop to eat at a restaurant! Gotta have my Dole Whip and Mickey Pretzels! :D

Cheeseburger spring rolls (when they’re open), pepper jack pretzel from Lunching Pad, and honestly the hand dipped corn dog from sleepy hollow is really good! We like liberty tree tavern for sit down as well

My favorite quick service is a tie between the Grilled Chicken Greek Salad at Cosmic Ray's and the Cheeseburger Springrolls!

I like the Columbia Harbor House. The food isn't the best on property, however it's relatively inexpensive, and the quality is fairly consistent. The atmosphere upstairs is also typically more relaxed than other quick service locations.

Is that the restaurant that has the Thanksgiving Dinner that is available all (or most of the) year?

I believe that you are talking about Liberty Tree Tavern which is a Table Service restaurant. I have heard great things about it, but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

I'm also not too impressed with the food options at Magic Kingdom. For quick service, I prefer Pinocchio's mostly because I like to sit at the windows overlooking small world. Skipper Canteen is one of my favorite table service restaurants in all of WDW. The atmosphere and CMs are great. I get the Tastes Like Chicken Because It Is (with the spicy sauce on the side). So yummy!

I agree Magic Kingdom is definitely lacking in the food department. I would say it's my least favorite park food-wise. That being said, I absolutely love Skipper Canteen. I'm a huge Jungle Cruise fan and you combine that with some delicious food and I'm all in. Skipper Canteen is an underrated gem inside the Magic Kingdom.

Good food and Magic Kingdom certainly seems to be an oxymoron.

Skipper Canteen is probably the only Table Service we really enjoy. We find the appetizers are generally better than the entrees and love the Brazilian Cheese Bread, Falafel, and Cachapas. On the snacky side of life there is Dole Whip of course and we also enjoy the Cream Cheese Pretzel at Lunching Pad and Spicy Chicken Waffle at Sleepy Hollow.

Otherwise keep on hunting Cory. The Kingdom of Magic certainly needs to up its food game.
