We are going to rent a car for a day the next time we are there. (May 2021). We don't need carseats.

How do you get to/from the car rental places? What car rental company have you used?
Will need something with late drop off too. Extra points if you give me step by step instructions on what to do. :D

In my last trip in Feb 2020, I rented a car from FLL airport as we flew in there, and stayed a couple nights at my wife's grandparents condo. We drove up to Disney and checked into the Contemporary. Right near the Magic Kingdom parking lot entrance area is the Disney Car Care Center: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest ... re-center/

It has a gas station, where a lot of the Disney buses get maintenanced, and also where I was able to setup a return for my rental. I got my rental through Travelocity.com and used Alamo as my rental provider and everything was perfectly smooth dropping it off. Disney even has a shuttle that took me back to the Contemporary for free!

I remember when looking on Travelocity, I put the return address as 1000 West Car Care Drive Bay Lake, Florida 32830 - or just enter "Disney World" and that seemed to work for getting all availability from various providers that allow drop off at this location.

EDIT: Just saw you said late drop off ... not sure how late you're thinking, but the Car Care Center closes at 7pm, however I think some or all the rental companies that have a shop there allow late night drop off. I would give them a ring to see!

Costco Travel has the best pricing I have found anywhere for rentals. Typically by a substantial amount

When we used to rent a car we would usually sit and wait for a deal from one of the several rental places at MCO and then go with the cheapest option that met our needs. The parking fees at resorts made it so that we no longer rent cars anymore. For us Uber to and form the airport plus the one or two times we may need it during our stay is way more cost effective.

We rent from Enterprise or Budget because they are reasonably priced and a spouse can drive for free.

Do you want to rent at the airport? If so, it is relatively straight forward, you follow the signs for car rental, if you rent from certain companies like Enterprise or National and you join their rewards program (which is free), you can walk up and pick whatever car you want in the right aisle (for National it is the Emerald aisle) - keys are in the car already and drive to the checkout booth, give them your reservation number, ID and you're on your way. Return time is set when you reserve the car.

If you're already at Disney, as mentioned earlier the Car Care Center is on site and has an Enterprise / Alamo / National (they're all the same company actually) - you can contact them and ask them to pick you up at your resort hotel and they will drive you to the Car Care Center. During hours where they're open - they can also drive you back to your resort. If they aren't due to late drop off, you will want to use an Uber or Lyft to get back to the resort.

I've never rented before from the Car Care Center, but the experience is probably different from the airport - you usually don't get to pick your car - you instead wait in line inside the rental office and they will assign you a car and usually hand you the keys.

Hours and details for the Car Care Center here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest ... re-center/

As mentioned earlier, you can book through Costco often for the best price - but check if your company has an employee discount. For our upcoming trip in June, my company's rate was half of what the Costco rate was!

I'm trying to figure out how to do a car rental online from the car care center. It doesn't seem to like anything that I try to put into the "Pickup Location" box.

For National Car Rental, I type in "Orlando Walt Disney World Car Care" and it comes up, but you can also use zip code 32830.

For Enterprise or Alamo, you can use the zip code 32830 and when you search for the rental it should come up as "Orlando Walt Disney World Care Care".

For Costco's Car Rental finder, I use the address of "1000 Car Care Dr, Orlando, FL 32830" and both Alamo and Enterprise come up for the Car Care Center.

Same thing for the website you linked, if you use zip code 32830, the first hit is for the Car Care Center.
