Disney World to Phase out 6 ft. physical distancing

Postby Liquid Ice » Wed May 12, 2021 11:26 am

Disney World announced today that they will be phasing out the 6 ft. physical distancing, but would keep the 6 ft. for dining locations, relaxation stations and in shops.

This means potentially queues could reduce physical distancing to 3 ft, or maybe even no physical distancing.

Parking will now also be every single spot instead of every other spot.

What do you think? I think with vaccinations and if everyone is wearing a mask, I'm not nearly as worried about 3 ft, but I still have concerns for my children who cannot get a vaccine yet.

It’s a little concerning because we’re in a transition not a recovery in the whole country. I’m at WDW now and way too many are not adhering to the 6 feet distance. So it seems like 3 feet will be close quarters. And there are many who get into an elevator with me and say “we’ve all been vaccinated” but they have young kids who I know for a fact have not (unless they side stepped guidelines somehow). I’ve only had my first shot so still a bit concerned on how sick I could get if they happen to be carrying the virus. And that’s something I think people don’t understand that a vaccine means you can still get it but it’s very rare to die from it now.

So, in summary, I’m concerned it’s too soon haha.

I think it's too soon to be phasing out the physical distancing, sometimes even 6ft feels too close for my liking.
Hoping to make our first trip to the World of Mouse one day

I prefer people to not be breathing down my neck any time not just because of covid I like space :D ... but it does back up rides if they don't fill the rides

Exactly! I'm vaccinated so I'm good with the no masks outside in the parks and like that they are keeping the mask requirement for queues and indoor attractions, but I'd prefer they kept the 6ft rule. Although hopefully most people keep the distance anyway ...I can't stand people crawling up my rear end irregardless of covid!
