Planning for sept 2023

Postby cupcake17834 » Wed Feb 10, 2021 8:56 pm

What is the best affordable resort hotel to stay at for 4 adults? Also we are planning our trip for sept 2023 . Is it too early to book with travel agency

It is probably too early to book a hotel, but not too early to talk to a travel agent! 2023 pricing probably won't come out until sometime in 2022 - probably in the June timeframe.

In terms of hotels, I would consider a value hotel like Pop Century or Art of Animation both of which are on the Skyliner and gives you quick access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The other value resorts currently only offer bus transportation.

You will pay a little bit more to stay at Pop or Art of Animation, but imho it is worth it!

For 4 Adults though the rooms at Pop might be too small for you. You get 1 normal Queen sized bed and a queen sized murphy bed that pulls down from the wall. Here is a Room Tour from Jenna at Pop Century - https://youtu.be/ZGXG23jEyo0

Art of Animation has suites that are themed after different Disney movies (Cars, Lion King, and Finding Nemo), but they will be more expensive because they are larger - but might be nice for 4 adults. I don't know if ResortTV1 has an actual room tour of Art of Animation, they mostly have walk around tours, but you can search YouTube for room reviews.

Ultimately it depends on how important the size of the room is to you. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, then definitely Pop Century.

If you don't mind staying offsite, there are a number of reasonably priced hotels near Disney World and some of them offer the same "perks" of being on site (right now there really aren't any but by 2023 you may get 60 day fastpass and 30 minute early entry into each park). I am excited personally about the new Flamingo Crossing area that gets perks and is very reasonably priced - but there is no transportation here, you'd need to drive everywhere.

As far as I know, the max book out date for resort only - no tickets is 499 days which would put you in late June 2022. I would confirm with any travel agency, but I've heard that is the number for everyone the past couple years.

As for the best resort for 4 adults - you mention "affordable". If you could put a budge of what you would like to spend max per night AND if you want all 4 adults to be in the same room that would be better to give you a more accurate response. Also if you plan to spend some extra time at the resort to split the day up a bit i.e park in the morning, then come back to rest, pool, etc before going back out for dinner/evening at another park.

Even still, some quick ideas are Pop Century which is a Value resort. For September it can range from $175 to $280 per night depending what week you plan on going. If it's early around Labor day, expect to pay on the higher side per night. The standard rooms can fit 4 people - usually with 2 full or queen beds, but there is a $15 charge per adult after the first 2 adults so whatever rate you have in mind, add $30 per night to it. These resort is nice because it's recently updated, and has easy access to the new Skyliner to EPCOT and Hollywoods Studios; and several other great resorts. In terms of dining and other options at this resort, unfortunately there aren't that many as it's a value resort. You can count on a nice cafeteria style main dining area for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A single pool bar near the largest pool at the resort. Two other smaller quiet pools which is nice and not as many kids around.

My preferable choice for 4 adults who would like a resort that has everything you need, but still affordable per night are Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach. Both of these resorts are larger Moderate level resorts that offer a lot more than the Value ones in terms of dining, drinks, lounges, and overall theming. They also offer larger rooms most of the time. The prices per night are of course higher and closer to the higher end of the Value resorts, so expect anywhere between $225-280 per night - maybe even a bit higher if it's the first week of September. It's good to note that CB also has access to the new Skyliner, so definitely a plus to that resort.
