It’s a 16 he drive for us. We love driving. It definitely takes longer but we find it relaxing and use the drive down to switch from work mode to vacation mode lol
Re: Have you drove to WDW
My wife and I just talked last week about maybe driving with my kids down sometime. I just like flying and getting there sooner.

I drove to Disney World from the Boston area years ago, it was a bit too much driving for me. I like to be there in 3 hrs on a jet!

Yes we drive 8 hrs from SC. It's just short enough where we're not too exhausted when you get there and you can still do things.

Drove from central NY only once (took 2 1/2 days). Such a long drive. Flying is so much more convenient but driving works when flying is a challenge.

We drove from NY years ago. It was a long journey but it was fun going from state to state. I was also thinking about taking the train down one day just for the experience.

I've driven many times from Indiana. When I was a kid we drove from Illinois a couple times, then we eventually moved to Orlando, and the Space Coast after that.

Re: Have you drove to WDW
When I lived in East TN, I would drive down every other year starting in 1982 (Epcot opened). Sometimes over a three day weekend. It was a 10.5 hour drive so 90% of the time I stopped in Valdosta GA then got up at oh dark thirty in the morning to make rope drop. Three day weekends, I would go Saturday, Sunday part of Monday, drive home then go to work Tuesday. Yes, I'm nuts, but it's all about Disney.
Now living in Upstate NY, I just hope on a jet and get there in a few hours. When (if) I move to Birmingham AL, it will be an 8.5 hour drive. Or a couple hour drive to Hotlanta and a flight from there.

Re: Have you drove to WDW
I've driven from the Boston area I couldn't tell you how many times since the mid-80s, so long's I've got the time I very much enjoy it. Usually take a couple of days going down, three days coming back (a bit more leisurely). It IS true though it's become more physically demanding than in my youth (when I'd made the drive nonstop a few times even)! Hoping to make the run again in early December this year.Driving2Disney wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 3:30 pm How many times have you drove to WDW? We have drove from Texas 11 times.

And your name validates that. We’ve driven twice from Pittsburgh and I really don’t mind it either. I love a road trip especially to Disney!Driving2Disney wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 3:45 pmWe love driving. We Drive from Detroit. We use I-75. On Day one we get to about Dalton GA, then Day 2 arrive in WDW. Driving when the **** of snowbirds and trailers and RV's is probably the busiest time to go. I am thankful for XM Radio.
