Re: Poly!

We are staying there in DVC portion in late May/ Early June. I’m hoping it will be more normal than the photos I have seen recently. I’ll be sure to update when we get there!

Re: DVC Q&A

We have been thinking about getting a DVC for YEARS! The entire process feels a bit daunting though. Questions: Resale or direct from Disney? Do you get a better deal from the reps on property? How many points? We like to go at least once per year for a week. Thank you Hoppers! The bad resale restr...

Re: Poly!

. I think the walkway to MK from GF is now going to make it more enticing since you can bypass the monorail line and walk back. So I have this crazy adventure in mind for my upcoming trip. I want to walk from the Poly all the way to the contemporary and back. I have eyed that sidewalk to nowhere ou...

Re: DVC Q&A

As someone who never stayed at DVC resort, there is sites where I can rent points from someone and stay there right? Is it a good deal for that? There are places that assist in renting of points. It’s not a bad idea to try that, although, people’s experience varies when doing this. NOT because of t...

Re: Contemporary Resort

The Contemporary is the epicenter of all things Disney to me. I have a memory when I was a small kid. It is just the image of the monorail gliding above us as we ate breakfast. The sparkling widows silhouetted against the sky...... I have never shaken that image from my mind. It was 1974 and we stay...

Re: Best Resort Pool??

I have never stayed at Beach Club/Yacht Club but Stormalong bay is on my bucket list.

The Poly Lava Pool reigns supreme in my book. The VIEW!

I also love the pool at Kidani..... I have some great memories from there, especially swimming 3 days before Christmas....

Driven from NC 8 or 9 times. I have done it straight, broken it up. Arrived late at night and early morning after a stop over. Driving back in May....

Re: Where to "Rent" DVC points?

The trouble with a rental forum is that it almost always devolves into a dispute between members of a transaction is flawed or goes bad. Please remember to not link to outside websites without admin approval. It’s a reasonable question of where to rent, but forum posting rules dont allow it. I know ...

Re: DVC Q&A

How many points is tricky. It depends on the resort. 100 points will go further at Saratoga Springs than Grand Floridian. Each night is a certain number of points, depending on season and day of week. One night at Animal Kingdom Lodge (wonderful resort!) will be fewer points than Grand Floridian for...

We have done THAT a few times, and it is special in its own right.....

But we are headed back to Poly in May. Mahalo!

Re: Poly!

The Poly presents a difficult problem for us. It is my daughter’s favorite. We love the pool soooo much. It’s a much better angle to watch MK fireworks from a resort. Don’t even get me talking about Tonga Toast. As a DVC member, Poly is challenging because you have only studios or bungalows. We have...

Re: What is your favorite background music loop?

I love the Disney Studio daytime and Nighttime BGM loops from DLP. There are non-Disney movie theme songs mixed in there. I play these once a week at least. I also love Epcot entrance music and Wilderness Lodge loop. The animal Kingdom Lodge Christmas loop is also a favorite. Our first DVC trip was ...

Re: Hotel

So, DVC made sense for my family because we knew we were going to go back to Walt Disney World. There is a ton of predictability in the rooms that you get with DVC. They are very similar all across property. By that I mean you have similar amenities. DVC has made very nice hotel rooms affordable for...

Re: Who is going for the 50th?

I had a reservation. I’m DVC member, but made a cash reservation so I could book it at day 499 before. Then life happened. And I found out my daughter was not going be able to go because she was not gonna be able to get away from school. My dream of being there on the 50th anniversary was completely...

Re: Best dining choices

My family is bad about going to the same places over and over again. We try new restaurants from time to time at Walt Disney World, but we like to go to our favorites. The advantage of going to the same places over and over again is that you get some idea of the consistency overtime of the dining ex...
