How Do They Know????

And I'm not making this up. Literally, every time I leave for a Disney trip, 9 times out of 10, the Friday livestream before my trip will be the first park I plan to visit on my trip or it will include the resort I'm staying at. So, naturally, the excitement is crazy. I'm doing happy dances and brea...

Re: What do you pack for Disney World?

My backpack always has my personal fan, a pair of Crocs sandals (for when it rains, to avoid wet socks and shoes - Adam Hattan tip), my UV umbrella, water, blister pads, bandaids, extra masks (these days), cooling towel, my phone, wristlet for my wallet and things, earplugs, and Tylenol

Re: Best backpacks

I have an anti-theft one that I carry that's small. I actually use it quite often at home.

Re: Is it weird to go to DW alone as an adult?

I've had many solo trips, and prefer going to Disney alone. I was widowed at 42, and I don't know of anyone that I'm close to that likes to go to Disney as much as my late husband did. So, I started going alone, and now I love it. It's not weird at all, and I've seen many people there by themselves....

Re: Any Dollywood Fans?

I like Dollywood, but I love their resort DreamMore even more. During off season, they drop the rates and there's no one there. It's amazing.

Also, Blazing Fury has to be one of my favorite rides ever.

Re: Any tips for a first time solo trip?

Hi Tom! I also travel to Disney solo from North Carolina. I'm a widow, and have learned to love traveling solo. I love the direct flights we here can get from Raleigh and Charlotte, especially since half of it is over the ocean! First, please don't feel guilty. There's nothing to feel guilty about. ...

Re: The smells of Disney

I always find this funny. I love the water smells at Disney. You know, on Pirates and Living With The Land. But, when I found out that it was Bromine, I just started laughing. I'm HAZMAT-certified, and Bromine in concentrate form is considered a class 8 HAZMAT. Now, they water it down so it's safe. ...

Re: Post Disney Depression

I usually have a day after I get home of just rest, so I sleep for most of that. When I go back to work, I'm usually thinking, "You people are NOT Disney". BUT, I kept smelling the Spaceship Earth smell after I returned to the office from my last trip. I kept trying to figure out where it ...

Re: Have you driven to WDW?

We drove down every 2-3 years on our family trips from my first trip in 1978 when I was 4. It wasn't until the last few years that I started flying. Now, that I go solo, and now that I'm 46, I just don't like doing the drive anymore. My body gets too achy and stiff. Besides, it's a direct flight for...

Re: 1 must

Some kind of serious sweet treat. Usually, a seasonal one, but sometimes, I go for the classics. And, I'm talking about a ridiculously sweet treat that I wouldn't eat in my normal life, like one of those caramel apples or one of the crazy cupcakes. I LOVE the Amorette's petite cakes, but that usuall...
