Generally I believe the stores stay open for shopping for around an hour after park closes. So if the park closes at 7pm, you should have until around 8pm to shop.

Yeah, I got to go to River Country a few times as a teenager.

I'm not really into big water slides and such, but River Country was a lot more "laid back" with its lazy river and such - I really enjoyed it!

You guys should do a live stream of Fort Wilderness one day :)! I'm not sure if guests that aren't camping can rent golf carts or not but if you can, it's a great way to visit the resort.
