Re: Enchantment - what was that?

It was incredibly disappointing to say the least watching that last night. I can't believe this is what they have been working on the last couple years. I will say, I know the Imagineers that did work on this show put their heart in it - I will never question the passion and talent of that team. Thi...

Re: Christmas

We will be there in mid December too this year! We absolutely cannot wait. As of now, there hasn't been anything officially announced for Christmas activities and everything Disney plans to do at WDW this year. I think it'll be interesting to watch how the Halloween Boo Bash after hour events go as ...

I also have never been to either of these places, but I have seen reviews of Tony's recently. The location - right at the entrance seems like a fun place to eat outside and watch all the happy faces come into Magic Kingdom. The food seems like the usual Italian fare you would see at other Italian st...

Pretty crazy as that area is always super busy with trucks and such! Glad they are already working on it so Guests can hopefully use it first thing tomorrow morning!

I dunno why I’m shocked that it was pushed out further. You know what?! At this point, I don’t wanna hear any more about it “supposedly” opening. Pros/Cons of purchasing points third party instead of direct

My wife and I have been going back and forth on purchasing DVC points for about 3 years now. Her extended family has always had points, and they absolutely love using them. After doing all the analysis we could, it's clear that owning DVC for the LONG term that allows us to stay at a Deluxe resort e...

Re: Where to "Rent" DVC points?

What is the benefit of renting points versus booking a DVC room directly through Disney? Is it simply a cost thing? It comes down to price. Normal rack rate for a DVC Villa can be very high. Just to give you a quick example... March 1st - 5th, 2021 - Bay Lake Tower - Lake View Studio, Rack Rate is ...

I know this thread is slightly old, but I always appreciate more information so I can make a great decision for my families vacation. We just booked 5 nights for December 12-17 this year at BLT via renting points from DVCRentalStore.com and I wanted to share our details to show just how powerful ren...

Re: Best use of points

I am not a DVC owner, but I have been looking into joining VERY seriously multiple times. As you noted, AK rooms are definitely the cheapest throughout the year which IMO if you've ever stayed at AKL or Kidani Village, you probably know this is an incredible value and great use of your points. A qui...

Re: Is it weird to go to DW alone as an adult?

From the (too) many Disney parks related forums I'm a member of, the ratio of people who have traveled alone and loved it compared to those who traveled alone and hated it is like 10:1. From my perspective, I would most likely enjoy a shorter solo trip i.e. 3 nights. If for whatever reason I am in t...

Hey feller Hoppers!! Hope you all are doing well today. There are A LOT of firsts for us in this trip: 1. First time staying at Polynesian ...

Re: What is the FIRST thing you do at WDW?

Great question! Disclaimer - my answers are based on pre-covid trips since we haven't been since the pandemic. We have a arrival day itinerary that is our go-to. We always fly in early and rent a car. We head straight to the resort and try our luck and getting an early check-in. Successful or not, ...

I have my expectations that TRON won't be ready for Oct 1st, 2021, but should be ready by spring 2022. I've said in another thread that my thoughts on how long Disney plans to do this cel...

That's awesome! We have never stayed in a Grand Villa room before, but a few years ago actually at Kidani my friend was staying in a 2 bedroom villa that we got to hang out in a for an hour or so. Re: Distance to/from parks from Kidani Village

I believe Kidani does share a bus with Animal Kingdom Lodge.

In terms of the time it usually takes to get to each park from KV, I would say under 10-15 minutes for every park with of course Animal Kingdom being on the shorter side of that.

This is always tough to answer because Disney does such a great job at so many of the resorts. With that said, you can't beat Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge or the Grand during Christmas. Poly and Contemporary are also nice, but they definitely have more subtle theming elements compared to t...

Definitely on the slower, relaxed side, but mainly in the mornings only. We are grateful to have gone at least 5 to 7 nights a year for the last 4 years or so, so we don't feel the need to go hard every day every time. We have done that for sure and spent ~12 hours every day in a park during our Apr...

I hope you’re right that they continue to celebrate the 50th into 2022. We’re in New York. With all the restrictions, we probably won’t be able to visit this year. Yeah I just can't envision them NOT doing an extra long celebration, purely due to COVID. But even if we didn't have COVID, I still thi...

Re: Thoughts on Disney doing construction projects now and making a "bet" for the 50th celebration (long post)

If you consider that DIsney has said (during their latest earnings call) that they will be spending considerably less on the parks in 2021 and for the foreseeable future, it doesn't bode well for announced projects for the 50th Anniversary. Some projects are far enough along that they will get fini...
