Re: The sounds of Disney!

When riding on the Peoplemover, you can sometimes hear a few notes of the music from the old "If You Had Wings" ride. If you are not familiar with that old ride from the 70s and 80s, and the song that played all through it, you wouldn't recognize it. But for me its a treat to hear that rem...

Great stream as always. OK, I may be a little off on this, but... Think about the accidental shopping jingle, and click on this old commercial: https://youtu.be/OC3TVVSrtc8 (Edit: Just want to clarify, Im not dis-respecting Josh's jingle. It just reminded me of this oold '70s and '80s commercial ji...

It would be interesting if there’s info out there on the layout and who/why/where, etc.

Re: Anyone have no interest?

A lot of people have the idea that it has to be Disney VS. Universal. I don't look at it that way at all. They are two different types of vacations for my family and we love them both. Agree 100% !! All the theme parks (Disney, Universal, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Legoland, etc.) have their own per...

Re: Favorite memory of Disney Quest.

I have very fond memories of DisneyQuest, and really regret that they decided to remove it. In particular, I have fond memories of my wife and I being there and enjoying our time there. I remember the Buzz Lightyear Astroblaster, the game where you drove a vehicle and shot rubber ball projectiles in...

Re: Anyone have no interest?

I love both Disney and Universal. In some ways, Disney beats Universal, and will probably always be a nostalgic favorite. No question Disney knows how to do things very well, and it holds so many memories for me. But you would be surprised at how many times Universal either matches or beats Disney....

I have to go with "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow." But "Dead Men Tell No Tales" and "Welcome foolish mortals to the haunted mansion" are also quite memorable. Here's one...does anyone remember this one??: "And kelp ..." "Seaweed?" " Ke...

Crossroads Shopping Center Closing . . . Memories

The Crossroads Shopping Center, right across from the entrance to Lake Buena Vista/Disney Springs, is apparently closing to make way for a highway expansion. This news brought to my mind a lot of Disney-related memories of the center. Often, prior to going into the park, I would stop at the now def...

Re: Need a ONE DAY Harry Potter Touring plan

(Of course, one could argue that if you wanted to be more specific to the Harry Potter storyline, you could start in London/Diagon Alley and then head to Hogsmeade.) This is what I did the first time I went and it was incredibly magical taking the Hogwarts Express from London and stepping out to Ho...

If you mean rides that no longer exist in WDW . . .

"Horizons," at Epcot

And "If You Had Wings" in the old Tomorrowland

Definitely the smell of Pirates of the Carribbean and the Polynesian. One Disney smell from a long lost attraction is the orange grove in the old, wonderful Horizons attraction at Epcot. Re: How much time should we spend on Universal?

I say you can do it okay in 2 days, with one day devoted to each park (Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios park), and perhaps a portion of the evening devoted to checking out Citywalk (the shopping/dining/entertainment section). If you want it to be a little more leisurely, then 3 days... on...

Re: Need a ONE DAY Harry Potter Touring plan

Hey, I just realized that I didnt actually answer your questions. I think either park is a good start. Hogsmeade has more rides, so you may want to do that first, do all the rides and look around (see the shows, shops, etc.), and then head to London/Diagon Alley to do that one ride, and have more ti...

This is very doable. There are Wizarding World of Harry Potter sections in both Universal Orlando parks. Heres a rundown. The Islands of Adventure park has Hogsmeade , which has Hogwarts castle, and has the following rides: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey : A very immersive dark ride featuri...

Disneyland recommendations for new visitors

I've been a visitor to Walt Disney World since 1974, when I was 4 years old. However, I've never visited Disneyland. What experiences and rides in Disneyland do you Disneyland regulars recommend for a newbie like me (and all other newbies)? What are "must see" and "must do" rides...
