Cast Members Highly Suggest Lightning Lane and house keeping update.

Postby reaganbetter » Tue May 31, 2022 9:43 pm

Just wanted to share. Some updated Park Housekeeping.
This is a change to Park Operating Procedure. Now post COVID-19.
Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Cast Members are encouraging the public to get Genie Plus and lightning lane.
Disney is expecting longer wait times for the summer months due to shortages of staff. They are in the mix of a hiring blitz.
During Memorial Day, several cast members were reportedly sounded off on social media and were also fired for not attending work.
Disney returned to it's normal attendance policy dating pre-COVID-19 when parks could operate in a larger capacity. Require specific required dates and times for employees.
Masks are now not required at Disney World and Disneyland but optional based on your own health conditions.
Reservations System is still being reviewed daily.

I can confirm the staff shortages. Tower of Terror is normally 75+ minute wait right now due them usually only running 1 of 4 elevators. Most other attractions are impacted as well bot ToT seems to be impacted the most. As for whether or not to get LL, if you do I would recommend the strategy of doubling up on it. Or maybe better put to cut in half. LL park hops with you so I would start in one park and get the biggest attraction. For your second one get the biggest attraction late in the day for a second park. Then fill in the gaps as best you can so you are using LL in Magic Kingdom during the morning and Epcot at night. Then do the same thing the next day for Hollywood studios and Animal kingdom. Don't hit all the attractions those two days only the big ones with LL. Then on days 3 and 4 you can make another pass without LL. You can get the same amount done while only purchasing LL for half the days you are there.

The only rides that you absolutely need LL for are Peter Pan, Seven Dwarfs, Frozen, Ratatouille, Flight of Passage, Navi River, ToT, Slinky and Rise. Everything else can be done if you observe wait times.
